All three Covina Valley Unified School District middle schools are among 31 high-performing California middle schools to be honored this year. Shared by Covina Valley Unified School District:   Covina Valley Unified School District – In a surprise victory, Northview High School’s girls varsity tennis team was named CIF Southern Section champions for the first time in school history. The Vikings entered the playoffs unseeded, but their unranked status did not stop them from making the most of the opportunity. Throughout the playoffs, they reminded themselves of their coach’s mantra—refuse to lose. Northview’s team first beat Downey High School in the first round, then beat fourth-seeded Chaffey High School in the second round. The Vikings then beat Loara High School in the quarter-finals and El Rancho High School in the semifinals. After their win against El Rancho, the Vikings were eager to compete in the CIF-SS Division 5 championship against Apple Valley High School. ATP serves students from ages 18 to 22 with moderate to severe disabilities, aiming to support them in their transition to adulthood through classes in financial literacy, healthy lifestyle choices, vocational skills, self-advocacy, and community awareness. Shared by Covina Valley Unified School District:   Covina Valley Unified School District – Covina Valley Unified School District (C-VUSD) will participate in the Federal Provision 2 Meal Program for the 2022-23 school year, which allows the District to continue serving school meals to all students at no charge. Nutrition Services will serve one free breakfast and one free lunch to C-VUSD students at all District sites Monday through Friday. Students participating in after-school care will also be offered one free supper meal. All other students may receive one free supper meal at Covina High School from 2:50 p.m. to 4 p.m. Students may purchase a second meal in their school’s cafeteria by providing exact change or by having a positive balance in their meal account.     Free Meals The free meals served by Covina Valley School District are healthy and nutritious, with the goal of encouraging students to pursue a well-balanced diet and a healthier mindset.
